Home Grown Campaign

A strategic lobbying campaign at the heart of government

A Strategic Lobbying Campaign

The United Patients Alliance (UPA) is collaborating with global stakeholders on the Home Grown campaign — calling for safe, legal, and affordable access to medical cannabis through home cultivation for patients.

For many across the UK, legal access to medical cannabis remains limited, expensive, or entirely inaccessible. We believe no patient should suffer because of outdated policies or economic barriers. Many patients are able and willing to grow their own medicine safely, legally, and with dignity.

We are collaborating on the creation and dissemination of a White Paper analysis of other countries’ Home Grown models and the social and economic argument for establishing a similar model in the UK.

What We're Fighting For

We are campaigning for:

  1. Legalisation of home cultivation for verified medical cannabis patients

  2. A licensed, patient-driven framework to grow safely and responsibly

  3. Decriminalisation of patients who grow for personal therapeutic use

  4. Public and political education on cannabis as a medicine

Why Grow At Home?

Thousands of patients are being left behind by the current system. Home Grown is about:

  • Affordability – Many patients cannot afford private prescriptions

  • Autonomy – Patients deserve control over their own medicine

  • Consistency – Reliable, strain-specific access for individual needs

  • Dignity – No patient should live in fear for managing their symptoms

What We Will Provide

If the UK government legalises Home Growing, UPA will provide:

  1. Patient Education
Safe growing basics, strain selection, harm reduction, dosage advice.

  2. Legal Guidance
Know your rights, risks, and how to navigate legal growing.

  3. Community Support
Access peer support networks and compassionate grower circles.

⚠️ Legal Note

Cannabis remains a controlled substance under UK law. Growing without a Home Office license is currently illegal. UPA’s Home Grown campaign seeks to change these laws through democratic means, and does not endorse or encourage illegal activity.
